Maybe it will gel. Too cold to hold a stable image. Trying to not make friends and influence people:D

It’s under 40f this morning in Phoenix which is  barely cold  to  anyone that’s not lived here.  What it does bring to mind is this.  When I was at college I had three years of  photography classes.  On mornings like this the unheated water supply   would barely reach the temperature needed for a decent development time. (68f)  ( yep my photoshop was chemical in nature)

So you could nurse your can for  additional  minutes but  there’s a point where it’s getting so cold that you may as well give up for another day,  get water from the canteen and watch it cool or do it at home.

Mentally I feel like  I should h(al)ide  from this day  but I fear a bad set of puns coming on that  I can’t stop,  one could already say that the  fix is in.  I’m committed in other words to using  developing film  as a theme for  ideas that sit too long in the cold  coming our malformed and harder to manipulate the longer they stay in the can.

Jump Cut

One of the nicer things about the advertising agency model was the pairing up of creative teams from people with complimentary skills  e.g   visualizer  and copywriter  which is something I’d find really useful. Why ?    I made the mistake of reading   a book on influence, a blog stemming from this can be located here, and  why   obviously good ideas I have fail to make an impact until   months later down the road when someone else brings it up.  e.g. the medium is the messenger.

Influencer: The Power to Change Anything

In my case I apparently fall into the innovator/ early adopter arena which a few studies , highlighted by the book above,   is not the most effective group,  quite the opposite,  get people to change their mind.  Nope that goes to those classified as “ opinion leaders”    and apart from a few special  folks that excel at both  sides it looks like pairing them up would make more sense  at the earliest stages because otherwise a lot of good ideas are dying on the vine.

So my task is  working out how to enact this idea of a creative business marriage with out the drag factor of being me  tossed into the loop
