Commuting a time suck that's time needs to come.
When I started work ,nearly six years ago, my commute time from door to door in both directions averaged 25 minutes. Today it's double that unless I come in heroically early < 0630 or stay till 1830. Gas prices are double than when I started and the sitting in traffic kills the mpg from the high 20's low 30's I traditionally had to the low 20's. It's inefficient I can't carry our anything worthwhile related to work while driving. 90 minutes a day , 7.5 hrs a week x 50 weeks = 375 hours or about six weeks a year when you divide that by 8 hours in a workday. That's six fricking weeks , more than my vacation time spent idly and expensively hoping to find someone that's going to amuse me with a quip on their bumper that I've not seen 100x before. Multiply that by hundreds of people ... Seems like a waste of capital and that's before you think about how much talent you miss out on by being on the "wrong side" of a commuting problem.
