The not as shiny as it was (New) Media Expo , Ontario Ca.

More than a week has elapsed since I returned home from the New Media expo  in Ontario California, well described over at Croncast.com as "It's like an hour from beautiful" which maybe a little too charitable for my liking.    Thankfully next years show is in August ( no need to miss most of Dobhran's Birthday) and in Las Vegas.

Apart from  some really cool video lights,  no really compared to ye olde incandescent these are cool ,  LED lights that can be remote controlled,  adjust their color temp from 1000 - 10000K  and  be light enough to  be camera mounted . This wasn't an exhibitor though but demo units being used by  Culture Catch ( one of those sites that I wish I'd found earlier)  which is kind of sad that very few  manufacturers were present.  For a show biased towards video I'm afraid the show floor was  bereft of the most rudimentary gear, lights, mics those things we  capture light with.. oh yeah camera's!   Apart from Adobe there was no presence from any of the mainstream  audio/ video editors within the exhibit hall and I seriously hope that's remedied by the time Vegas rolls around.

Ok so I didn't get my gear pron here but  I did get the idea that podcasting will be dropping the "alternative' media label sooner than people thing, sooner than Wired thinks anyway.

I'll post separately on the good stuff I  heard in the detail they deserve.

Podango's Acquisition of Gigavox -lite and how "annoyingly" neat the system is.

Free IQ    Host/ sell your  content for free with a great affiliation plan.

Tubemogul   post to multi video sites with analytics support

And a really neat video editing demo by the people that brought you the "levelator"

All that and battle between good and evil  ...soon.
