Pew poll on our "elite" web 2.0 users.
There's a mistaken belief in the USA that anything that's good for somebody , or could be perceived as a benefit is therefore good for everybody. That there's an absence of engagement or participation is not seen as valid choice but as something in need of correction because it's the participatory web after all
( yet it's mostly related to consumption)
A recent study from the Pew Internet and American life project is being seen by some in that light. There are people that have issues with their hometheater, alarm system and getting their video camera to stop flashing lens cap.( I'm tired of the VCR blinking 00:00 that's so old most of the users have passed onto better things , mainly wormfood)
Quick throwouts.
Can we please stop using the phrase "digital content" what the hell else are you expecting to do? Send the server an effing postcard let's take that particular bit of redundancy from the lexicon.
Elite? Having a blog makes you elite in about the same way as owning a Ford Taurus in a parking lot next to the Indy 500 being run. Downloading a video makes you elite? Let's get one thing clear here consuming media delivered by another mechanism that you passively take in does not make you anything other than a consumer.
Then again I feel better that I'm sharing this idiocy with an elite few.
