 mainly for the services and to maintain the same number I've had for years,  rather than as a primary phone line , like most people the house has cell phones,  since the change to get voicemail by email, redirects based on the time of day and a slough of "add ons" that the traditional telco will nickel and dime you for . I've had Vonage for about 2 years now and their current legal woes led me to find alternatives  just in case they bit the big one.  Vonage has never been a great experience quality wise the calls  locally are fine but internationally ( the main reason I have it)  I am saying pardon more than Clinton leaving the White House at the end of his term.

  I ended up on Viatalk which is cheaper monthly  has one or two more features and on the whole I look forward to trying out their  attempts to thwart anonymous and telemarketing calls.
