Apple has announced that iTunes will make individual AAC format tracks available from EMI artists at twice the sound quality of existing downloads,

I don't believe that is a supportable claim straight out   128kbps aac  I believed to be  claimed by apple is a lossless format ,  Ok  I'll back that up 

AAC compressed audio at 128 Kbps (stereo) has been judged by expert listeners to be “indistinguishable” from the original uncompressed audio source.*

So it's now two times as indistinguishable?    Nice.
