It's nice when you have a verb to describe the latest 2.0 noun advocates. Twitter(S)
Having been subjected to a little bit of "this is so cool" by advocates who then follow it up with " if only we knew why..." It's a solution in search of a problem.
For the uninitiated Twitter is an online update of what you are currently doing. These are delivered to people's IM's SMS or on their webpage/blog via a badge. Mine would currently say. "Writing a disparaging piece about twitter" It's a glorified IM away message with a fanclub. Obviously there are more subtle ways of using this but presently it doesn't seem to be life changing when you see how many marketing people are planning their output ( E.g you think anyone that's running a campaign twitter is connected in realtime ,and hasn't handed it off to staff members is really interested in the near legendary "conversation" that's touted for the 2.0 citizens but just wants to talk at , not to and certainly it's pretty far from with
) to appear to be engaged , present and to pop in a buzz word "authentic" , while cynically plotting your author or musician's tour next "twitter" suggests that as we're gaining immunity to the messages that every single social space is going to be , like the web has turned out for the mainstream, more like mainstreet.. at Disney.
