Social Media release a slightly anti take.

"Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes " a useful Thoreau away line in relation to today's rantertainment.  If you ever thought that a telephone should call another telephone to tell you it's ringing, a printer needed a scanner connected to another printer to pass along it's message then The Social media release could be for you .

The connection to dressing up is tenuous but the term "Social Press release"  looks like nothing more than the extensible part  being given a nice new clothing  in a microformat.

Do we need to distinguish a blog post as "an official post"  from the owner of the blog is quite interesting. Does this mean that the rest of their output is  less sincere or conversely it hides the BS  quote fests from execs that never said the words  until the marketer asked them to read it aloud?   So before I bias you further take a wander over here and find out more.

The discussion and need for this is being driven by people that are predominantly professionally engaged in either manufacturing consent or are the true "consumers" of PR. I've always appreciated companies that really only wish to waste my time with relevant timely info and show me ONLY the advertising I WISH to see  I'm sure they have my best interests at heart

I'm also wary of the conscious attempt on many to engage in real-time exegesis of their words as being part of a human authentic conversation  which I have to say I don't recognise  from any of my real world chats and it seems that if you have to say your acting like a human  you're not.

 More blathering soon.
