Studies show that Studies rarely show much

The fifty percent Ms, er Myth Elke den Ouden

"The average consumer in the United States will struggle for 20 minutes
to  get a device working, before giving up, the study found"

What they didn't tell you was that the device was a singing Bass and
that that the battery cover had a small screw.

So like a typical story with research,  there's no link to the research, and  relies way too much on an argument from authority  that emanates  from  a single Reuters feed.  Does it tell you which company sponsors the research/ program? You can read the piece and work that out.

So there's two things to think about:)  complexity in design and simplicity in "reporting"  the same piece is used over and over again on web design sites, product management sites and most annoyingly  people  using this as a way to advocate open source dev and design as providing the much needed relationship between end user and developer lacking from today's faceless corporations.    Ok. You go have a non geek install any distro you like and use it for a month. Ask them just how catered to they feel.
