Not a latin title in site : The new gatekeepers
An involved look at the "new" media that's emerging and whom, if any, gatekeepers will arise. I'm unsure why the attempt to apply the old model to what we currently have is a valid one. I.e on the physical side of old media's grown I'd argue that the ability for anything other than a broadcast model ,where massive capitalisation was required, to emerge is going to look like what we have (here is failure to communicate, now. I'd also argue that this idea holds for both totalitarian and "free" states as well as publically funded versus private systems. I'd like to but sadly I have no time for any honest reflection on the subject since I am about 98% undone on my current document and leave for Vegas in a day.
Addendum:
Sometimes it's amusing to speak of issues relating to freedom in a system which is rather precariously held together, at the edge ,with a worrying lack of competition in terms of access and the type of access your average user can avail themselves of.
