Yes it looks like golf isn't as Scottish as we have all been lead to believe and that China has a claim that predates the Scots by  half a millenia. Going with the "Myers" school of values .. " If it's not Scottish it's crap?  this would relegate golf to .. oh wait it wouldn't

Out of the three Scottish Icons  prevalent in the world, James Doohan didn't count 
Bagpipes ( not Scottish)
Kilts         ( short kilt is not Scottish)
and now Golf

Ah...   " like our father's before us  we've eyes for America .. dream of a new life on foreign shores,wherever we go we'll always know that the land we stand is never our own"
